Sneak peek of the May Gallerie M exhibit: Samantha Joseph – “Clone Wars”

As most of you know, Gallerie M features up and coming artists. Our next exhibit is an intriguing look into the mind of a young woman. Introducing, Samantha Joseph.

Samantha Joseph is a recent BFA graduate of the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design where she studied Drawing under Paul and Polly Caster. She has had several group exhibitions in Milwaukee, including the most recent, Human, at the Perspectives Gallery. While she considers her work to be drawing, she often incorporates paint into her pieces, believing that drawing is more accurately defined as a mentality of process rather than a form or media choice.

Her most recent work consists almost exclusively of self-portraits, about which she states, “this is the most focused I have ever been in my career, and I would be crazy to let myself drift off, even if some days I have no idea why I am still looking at my face in a mirror.” For Joseph, working in drawing is about balancing painful challenges with the simple beauty of having a good time.

Stay tuned for the arrival date of Joseph’s show and come visit Gallerie M in May or any day!

Lakefront Brewery Tour

Mon-Thur 2pm & 3pm, Fri 2pm-til late (Fish Fry 4pm-9pm), Sat 12:30pm-3:10pm

The infamous tour is as unique as the brewery and has a constant evolution in style and delivery. To begin with, Lakefront Brewery, Inc. thought it was odd to wait until the end of a tour to drink a beer. They believe there is a direct correlation between attention span on beer tours and drinking beer. Lakefront believes people want to go on brewery tours for three main reasons:  drink beer, be entertained, and see the place.  So, to meet their philosophy, the company provides beer at the start of the tour, shares jokes along the way, and still manages to explain the brewing process and history of Lakefront. Tickets are $7.00 and can be purchased at the door or in advance. Call ahead for specific tour times as they vary according to demand. Tours typically sell-out so arrive early. 1872 N. Commerce St. 414-372-8800 lakefrontbrewery.com
